OneOn are one of the fastest growing sports supplement online retailers in the UK with products that are extremely good value for money, rivaling the likes of Myprotein and Bodybuilding Warehouse. I decided to try their Whey Protein (banana flavour) for two reasons; firstly 4.5kg for just £45 is an extremely good deal and secondly, I had received a good review from a friend who had recently bought it.
OneOn are a sports nutrition and supplement company started up by a team of sports and fitness enthusiasts. They supply high quality supplements covering pre workout, post workout and mid workout formulas alongside daily vitamins and minerals and capsules such as BCAA and ZMA from their own brand, sourced from the finest ingredients across the world.
Another unique quality of OneOn, as well as the low prices on their products, is the way they sell their products. If you want 4.5kg of Whey Protein for example, they provide it in 5 packs each containing 908g of Whey Protein, rather than in one big tub. By doing this, they are able to sell in huge quantities whilst keeping prices low, for example, you can buy 9kg of Whey Protein for just £97.20 (cheaper if you use our 15% discount code), 1080 ZMA capsules, 540 BCAA tablets etc.
Low prices are shown with the likes of dextrose for instance, a great supplement to include in your mid workout and post workout protein shakes to give you a boost of energy and help you recover quickly from intense workouts. You can buy OneOn dextrose in a 3kg tub for just £5.95 instead of the RRP of £7.00 which is already very cheap.
As mentioned above, I bought 4.5kg of Banana Whey Protein Max which arrived as 5 bags each containing 908g. OneOn recommend 2-3 scoops per 200ml of water or milk so I tried 2 scoops to begin and this is certainly more than enough to get a really good flavour and consistency.
As a competitor to the likes of Myprotein, I was interested to see how Whey Protein Max tasted compared to Myprotein Impact Whey where I had previously tried 4 different flavours (Cookie and Cream, Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Coconut and Strawberry) and I actually consumed Myprotein Chocolate Coconut Impact Whey Protein alongside OneOne Whey Protein Max to conduct this experiment.
I preferred the taste of OneOn Whey Protein Max because it was not as sweet and I felt it had a lot more flavour; one of my concerns with Myprotein's Impact Whey is the quite weak taste of many flavours (certainly compared to products such as Optimum Nutrition's 100% Gold Standard Whey) but this is understandable given the prices are much lower. In fact, I think Myprotein True Whey is actually a better product than their Impact Whey (their best seller!).
Nonetheless, Myprotein's prices are actually very similar to OneOn and I felt there was a good, strong banana taste which was what I was hoping for.
I experienced absolutely no problems with the way Whey Protein Max diluted into the fluid I used having tested it with both water and milk. Using 250-300ml and 2 scoops it blended in perfectly after shaking for 5 seconds.
Overall I enjoyed the taste of OneOn's Banana flavour Whey Protein Max a lot using 2 scoops and for the low prices they charge I would certainly recommend this supplement to anyone looking for a good value Whey Protein based on flavour, nutritional content and mixability.
Like Myprotein's Impact Whey, Whey Protein Max is OneOn's best seller and is sure to become increasingly popular over the next year as the fitness community are always looking for protein that is great value for money and actually does the job it is supposed to do, such as this product, in such a competitive marketplace. I will be trying OneOn's most popular pre workout supplement 'Hades' next so look out for a review of this product soon!
